3 Day Weekend!

Yes, I had one. I was going to take some TH classes at a LSS, but forgot to register and had already requested the days off...why change, right? Was gonna go fishing with my dad and the boy, but it was too windy, so I ended up scrapping at my moms instead all day saturday. Yesterday I scrapped a little more, did some laundry, cleaned the house - nothing too spectactular.

This morning I had to take Joey to the Phoenix Municipal Stadium (the field where they do MLB spring training here) to have "A Day With The Diamondbacks". It was quite fun, lots of field events for the kidlets. It was all directed to preschoolers with special needs...even though Joey's only got a slight speech problem - but if it gets him out of school for a day, lol.... There were kids from all over the city from different school districts - all Head Start children. I'd say there was about 500 kids total there, and it was a blast. Joey did a bit of TBall, musical chairs, got his hand painted on, and did an obstacle course about 5 times - he loved that!

The only bummer part...where were the D'Backs???? The whole place was decked out in D'Back style - black, purple, & teal balloons, posters, signs, employee uniforms, and all the kids got a D'Back shirt when we came in. We didn't see one single player until the last 5 minutes of the event, and didn't even know it was them until it was pointed out to us because the 3 whole players that showed up weren't in uniform, lol. For all we knew they were more volunteers or parents, ya know?

But all was not lost, for our children still got to play with a MLB team...just not our home team. The Milwakee Brewers were out in full force hangin' with the tots. They were so into it, and it was so fun to watch. They were handson playing games with them, doing the face painting, handing out prizes, and even the medals during the "award ceremony" at the end. before it started one of the guys was standing on the dugout in right field (right where we were sitting) blowing bubbles and letting the kids blow bubbles with him...not to mention the view I had of that young hunk of flesh in...oh wait...this isn't about me *blushing*

Anyway, it was a good busy day with a tshirt and free lunch :)

Afterwards I went to Wal-Mart and got my hair hacked off. Joey said "You look just like Grandma Vikki!"...and what's sad...I do *hiding head in shame*. I can't believe after all these years of making fun of my mothers haircut, that I went and got the same one! And with these glasses...*sigh*....I'm my own worst nightmare *sobbing*
