The hummingbird is ALIVE!!!

Last night I was on the porch talking to Jen on the phone (she has to protect me via phone so the hoodlums don't bother me....I have issues). Anyway, Babycat comes running past and I swear I heard him squeak. A few seconds later DH starts screaming like Ned Flanders (read: a woman) "He's got a bird! Get him out!"...just then babycat turns around and runs out. He stops out in the middle of our "yard" (the space between us and our neighbors across) and looks like he's going to munch on something. I scream at him, pick up a handful of gravel and throw it at his furry ass. He drops whatever it was he was about to snack on, and it ran past my feet. I look down and it's a teeny, tiny little hummingbird! I shuffle Babycat back inside, informing him that he shant fuck with hummingbirds because they are a part of Jesus! (another long story involved there, lol). He runs inside - hummingbird is safe to die in peace. I was sure he was gonna die after having spent a time inside my cats mouth.

I come inside b/c I hate watching animals die, but I didn't want to pick it up b/c it wasn't dead yet..ya know. Anyway, Stupid DH about 15 minutes later goes out to smoke and lets the cat out! By this point Mr. Hummingbird is up on our porch. It starts to fly and flutter right in DH's face . Then it plopped down in the dirt. I went and found a small box (a xyron 510 refill box), put some paper towels in it, and DH got the bird to go inside. He sat it on our porch (babycat is back inside again at this point). But the poor thing was squeaking so bad! Not that it was a bad squeak, but I didn't want to hear it suffering...so I moved it, ROFL. I put him over by the neighbors window :D He was just hanging out in his box, sqeaking...looking at me with those beady brown eyes. I was crying and all sad for him :( Well, this morning Dh came in and said "Good news. Hummingbird just flew off and left us some poop in his box as a thank you gift!" Awwwwwwwwwww

Don't fuck with hummingbirds.
