A Vent - By Erin (it's a long'one!)
Here are the stars of our story:
Troy (GM), Robin (Asst. GM), Laura (Asst MGR), Valerie (Asst MGR), Tristan (Asshole GM), and a few servers...
Okay, this started about a month ago. Troy left to transfer to a unit in Missouri. We knew it was coming, he'd been wanting to go for a while. It was finally official. We all figured that Robin would get that GM position, because she'd been the Asst GM for about 4 years and with the company for like 6. She didn't. They gave it to Tristan - who came from another unit in Erinbergh. They don't have a restaurant there, they have a Wendy's fast food place. He had originally came from my unit - his last day was my first day, so I never worked with him. He had been an Asst. MGR and moved up to GM of the EB unit. Okay, so Robin had her feelings hurt, and understandably so. So she put in 3 weeks notice. Troy left. The day before the 2 week mark, Robin found out that Tristan had been basically slandering her around the other employees. She got fed up, said "fuck you" and walked out.
The next day Valerie apparently had an interview where Robin went (she went with Taco Bell to be a GM). Valerie got the position. She put in her 2 week notice. Today would have been her last day. She walked out yesterday when the girl who I will mention farther down accused her of being a thief...(the other girl is a pathological liar...blah blah).
A few days after that, Laura got an interview and a job working as Robin's assistant manager. Tristan talked her out of it. I told her that she was stupid. That she needed to take that job - it's a LOT less stressfull than what she does now, it's more money. It's not worth it to stay to listen to their fistfulls of lies and bribes that they'll never follow thru with. She kept saying that she couldn't leave, couldn't do that to them. I told her it wasn't her problem. Let him sink his own ship. Last Saturday she finally made up her mind - she took the other job. Her last day was today :( :(
Okay - now to the server side. The morning shift has a very strong staff of servers. I am the lead server. I have seniority by a year or more over everybody else, I'm the designated trainer, etc, etc. Well, there's this girl - we'll call her "D". D has only been with the company about 5 months. She's recently out of prison for grand theft larceny or some shit. She's not even off her parole/probation/whatever until February. She was alright at first. But then we found out that she lies - A LOT - about EVERYTHING. She's got a husband on the outside, a girlfriend on the inside (who up until about a month ago her world revolved around...hasn't mentioned her in a while *hmmmm*), and a boyfriend on the side (one of our customers...troll looking mo'fo'..ick). She's appointed herself GODDESS OF EVERYTHING AND IN CHARGE OF EVERYBODY. She's got some serious case of MOODSWINGS like you would NOT believe! I can't even begin to explain it - you'd have to be there. Anyway, like I said - self appointed her to be the 'i'm the boss of everybody' person. She's like in this personal power struggle with herself. She's put in her 2 weeks notice like 4 fucking times. She's walked out in a huffy-puffy-hair-flipping-foot-stomping manner more than 6 or 7 times. It's fucking insane.
Well - she must be giving good head because Tristan worships the fucking ground she walks on. You'd think that maybe it's because she's a pretty little thing - NOT - She's not fugly or nothing, but far, far, far from being a hottie that usually gets that kind of attention. Back to my point. Tristan appointed her into the Lead Server position - WTF? Ummm...that's like my position? He's totally not even acknowledging that I even exist in that point. He also 'created' a position for her - Floor Supervisor (again WTF WTF WTF?) That position was originally created for Laura before she became a full on manager. What it basically entails, is 4 hours out of the day, she'd still be a waitress like normal but make reg. min wage (5.25/hr) vs our server pay (2.13/hr). That's it. They disolved that made up position when laura got into management officially. Larry (the RGM) knew about it and gave his permission for that position. Michelle (another server, love that girl) asked about it when she was approached about taking one of the AM positions and told them no. Said she'd do the floor supervisor (which I would have NO problem with). They told her that it was not a real position and they weren't going to be reinstating it. WELL - Mr. Tristan DID reinstate it (without larry's knowledge, for sure) and gave it to DEBBIE! Ugh..I said her name. Oh well.
I'm so fucking livid I could just SPIT! Then yesterday the stupid bitch got busted stealing a $10 tip off another girls table. She was TOTALLY busted, and denied it. She faught it for a minute then ended up giving $10 to the girl. Can you say ADMISSION OF GUILT? You fucking moron...
Then she had 2 walk outs. First she blamed it on the cashier - not that the cashier was paying attention - but that the cashier MUST have pocketed the money. WA??????? The cashier threw a FIT and was pissed that she'd be accused of that. "D" was like "I do NOT have walkouts! I NEVER have walkouts!". I'm so sorry, honey bunny - but we ALL get WALKOUTS! Shit happens! Well then she turns on Valerie. Accusing Val of stealing the money. She must have. IT's the only possible explanation *rolling my eyes*. Naaaaaaaaah...it couldn't be that your customers just DIDN'T PAY???? Naaaaaaaaaaah.. Idiot. Val wasn't taking her shit anymore. She walked. YAY VAL!!!
Oh, I forgot to mention that Tristan will defend Debbie until the end of the earth. He told Laura, regarding the $10 tip situation "It is what it is. If Debbie says it was $5, then it was a $5". Laura said "Well, Martha said it was a $10. What about that? It is what it is?". He said "Debbie said it was a $5. Then it WAS a $5.". He totally took Debbie's side on it. Fucker. And he wasn't even there (Mo'Fo' never shows up for work. Big ass loser)
So, they get a secret shopper report yesterday. Debbie - being the nice caring employee that she is calls Tristan after overhearing that they got it in. And that it was a bad report (20% out of 100%). Did she hear who the server was? UMMMM...NOPE!! It was HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Laura told Tristan and he said "No, it can't be. It was probably Michelle". Well 1) NO way, Michelle is a kickass waitress. 2) It said that the server had long dark brown hair, with half in a bun on top of her head (DEBBIE!) and farkin' Michelle is BLONDE! And wears her hair down with just a barette on the top! And her hair only goes to sher shoulders - debbie's is all the way down to her butt. PLUS Laura went and looked up the ticket - the shopper report says what they ate and what time. So Laura went thru all the tickets at that time and the ONLY one that had 2 people on it, with THAT order was DEBBIE'S!
*whew*
Anyway, I won't work with that bitch if she has any position of authority over me. I called the outback and talked to the manager and they are hiring servers. And now i have experience. I'm going to try to get into someplace part time and see how the $$ is, and then work my way out to full time and away from the J. I used to love my job. Until about 4 weeks ago. Now I hate it.
