There's a reason why I ditched PE
Because I'm lazy and I hated it.
I have Thursdays off now - pointless for me to go into work for only 30 minutes when it takes me nearly an hour to get home. Not worth it.
So, now I have the day off which amounts to another day I can go to Joey's school and help with his class for a bit (before I take off to do mommy things ALONE).
Today was PE day. Mr. P is the PE teacher (??HUH??). Anyway. This guy is like 6' 5" tall, wearing regular gym shorts and what looked to be a workout shirt make for a 12 year old girl. It was a little short on him, ROFL. But what they did made more sense as far as things Joey was wanting me to do at home (he would never explain where he learned of it, yadda yadda)
Like juggling. Joey's been trying to make me juggle, trying to show me how to do it. Letting me know that I need to juggle THE ball (only ONE ball) and at the end I have to throw it into my hat. He got my hat for me. Wasn't that nice?
Well, they juggle in PE, but they use scarves. 1985 Madonna colored scarves - neon pink, orange, & yellow. Ick. He was totally digging it. I've never seen him participate so much in an activity, and his teacher & aide said that he LOVES PE.
Then we did the whole "head - shoulders - knees - toes" thing. We also did "hips" but after a bit of discussion we decided to call it our "waist" instead.
Then, the grand finale was 2 loud renditions of the HOKEY POKEY! We put in every part of our body that we could think of that would go IN and OUT - our hands, legs, head, and our BOOTIES! Yes, our booties. The kids had one heck of a hillarious chuckle at that one. We all shook our groove thanks then we did the Hokey Poke and we turned ourselves around...
THAT'S WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT! HOKEY POKEY!
