Happy Halloween!
Boy, this was one long day! On a quick unrelated note, we were able to pay our rent :) We were both afraid they might garnish DH's paycheck again - because his employer is stupid - but they didn't. AND he got another 25cent raise. That's $1 in the last 7 months - which is good because he went 5 years without a single raise. WOOT!
Anyway, this morning we had to be at the TV station for the Mid-Day news. My MIL called last week and asked if I wanted to take Joey in. I was going to be with my sister, so both the boys went. It was for kids 5 and under, so we were all good. They were good for the most part, not too fidgety, on camera at least. A few times Joey whispered "How many more minutes to I have to sit here!". They showed them {the kids} off and on during the whole hour, and the biggest chunk was at the end when this blonde lady was singing a Halloween song. My sis videotaped it and we watched it when we got home. We didn't have a good view during the show because we were behind the camera man. But we did see them get a big long closeup of Gavin in his mask, and then panned over to my Joey :)
He was sitting there totally bored, staring at the monitor and as soon as he saw his face he did his "I see myself and now I'm going to make stupid faces" face. He ended up winking at himself and sticking out his tongue, lol. My mom is going to take my sis's video and edit out the news parts and put the rest on a dvd for us. Maybe I'll be able to get it on here or something. It was hillarious.
Then we did Sizzler for lunch, and then headed to my sisters for a bit. Drove to my work so my sister could pick up her jacket and it took us 20 minutes to get about 60 feet - from the freeway exit to the entrance (which isn't far) because the semi's were backed clear up to the parking lot. Thankfully, it only took us about 2 minutes to get out.
Trick or Treating was an event. We went to the FAR west valley (yes, it goes farther west than my ghetto home). Also known as the Rich Good Candy Neighborhoods. The boys made out very well. Within 30 minutes their buckets were full and we had to dump them into backpacks. Of course, their buckets weren't all that big to begin with, lol. We went with my sister's ex-boyfriend {gavin's dad} and his current girlfriend and her son, and another kid that belonged to one of their friends. Jerry Springer anyone? All 4 boys were dressed in black. We had 2 Vaders, a Scream Ghost, and a Ninja. They were all 5/6 years old, so that was a treat, lol.
Then we hit MIL's house where I invaded her bowl of chocolate delights as well as a couple of her neighbors. Then off to my moms we went, where we INVADED her big basket of goodies. It's become a Halloween tradition. Our house was the last we hit - still is - and we clean her out.
When we got home, Joey helped himself to a final treat of some Smarties and headed off to bed. I put his candy into a one gallon container that I had and it was filled to the top and then some. That thing is getting hidden...far, far away. Now he's crashed out, and hopefully we'll be able to wake him for school in the morning, lol.
Anyway, a few pics are below :)
