Crochet, Crochet, Crochet

I'm on strike. I decided that I'm burned out on scrapbooking, too much stress and I just don't want to do it anymore. Everytime I tried to create something I'd get anxiety about it. Not worth it, in my opinion. I still have to do 2 layouts in the next few days for an assignment, but after that I'm on a semi-permanent hiatus.

So I decided to start crocheting again. I used to do it a while back, constantly, but I stopped when I was about 6 months pregnant. I mean, I was obsessed with it. I had 7 giant rubbermaid boxes filled with patterns and yarn. I even have a handy little organizer for all my hooksthat my mom made me when I turned 21. I made blankets, scarfs, baby clothes, sweaters, doll clothes (barbie - hard one's!).

When I went to CHA I wandered around the different craft areas and got the itch to crochet again, so after rent was paid, I hit walmart for some yarn! I started on a mauve afghan last Monday (March 7th), and I'm almost done. Then I'm going to do up a quick baby blanket for my cousin and his wife and mail it off to them in Maryland. Joey's hounding me to make him one, so I'll do his (mauve, sage, and offwhite chevron). I also got yarn for 2 more blankets yesterday - another one for me (sage green), and one for my friend Jen (burgundy, sage, white verigated). I'm pretty excited about all of them.

Heck, I even went and bought myself a tote bag from Red Heart yarn to carry my crap in when I go to work (crochet on the bus and on my break, lol).

I love crochet :)

Here's the blanket that I'm almost done with

I farking hate this!!!!!!!

In what restaurant would you just mosey on in, and sit at a dirty table? Wouldn't a normal person wait until a table opened up? Not at where I work!!

Ya see, us waitresses, we have to do everything. We serve drinks, food, bus tables, etc (hell, we even have to take down the lamp shades and wash them twice a week!). All for $2.13 an hour and that ocassional 50cent tip we may get from some asshole. We also have huge stations - normal people don't seem to realize this. There are only 3 servers on the floor and 52 tables. That's a LOT of freakin' tables for 3 people to take care of! Not that they haven't tried hiring more people, we just can't keep them b/c it's too much work.

Anyway, when we are getting slammed we're trying to do everything at once, the last thing we need is some dipshit going "Um, this table is dirty". Well fucking DUH! Then dont' sit there! Or wait until it's clean! No need to point it out to me!

Yesterday some guy sat in L's station. He got his food FIRST (buffet, but still..sit down at a table first you moron), then sat at a dirty table and proceeded to eat. We all saw this - but seein' as how it's not my station and he didn't ACT as if he was irritated, I left him alone. L saw it too and said "If he's dumb enough to do that, he's dumb enough for me to leave him there a while". After about 10 minutes she finally went and cleared up his table. He said "I didn't think you would ever get here" and she told him "Well, you sat at a dirty table so I just thought that you were the same customer as before. A smart person wouldn't sit at a dirty table and start EATING and then expect to get service when we don't even know you're new!" and she walked off. That just took the cake.

God, I hate that. So, for anyone reading this: Yes, we know it's dirty. We'll clean it when we get a chance. Never get your buffet food until you have a clean table to sit at. And DON'T BITCH AT US!!!!!!!
