Last day, one post...

Well, it's been a while. Figured it's the last day of the year so I might as well post an update, lol.

Well, lets see...on the 17th I got some new furniture for my livingroom and shelving from Ikea. I had made a bit of money doing some website work for somebody and used that as my Christmas present :) Of course, that left us broke, ROFL.

That same night, Joey came down with a virus that everybody & their brother has had. He missed 4 days of school - but he wasn't the only one, more than half his class was gone thruought the week. It was a nasty one; fever, coughing, runny nose, etc. But he's MUCH better now. Of course, DH got it about 3 days after Joey did. *KNOCK ON WOOD* I haven't had it......yet.

Last Thursday (before Christmas), I got a phone call from Joey's teacher. She wanted to let me know that his name was entered into a drawing they were having at school, and he won something. The drawing was for the kids that sold "x" amount of cookie dough in their fundraiser sale. They were bigger prizes that they could win. He ended up winning a giant 12 foot long red-stuffed snake! I didn't give it to him until Christmas morning, but he was STOKED! They had one hanging in the cafeteria while they were doing the dough sale, and every day he told me he wanted it, lol. Well, now he's got it :)

Christmas was okay, nothing super-fantastic. I had to work for a few hours, but I made good money while I was there. Joey was just real nonchallant about the whole thing. He was excited the night before, but bythe time morning came, it was just another day to him. I had to practically force him to open his presents, lol. From santa he got a mini-robo-raptor and a magic set. He was disappointed because he was waving the magic wand at the cats and it didn't do anything, lol. He also got some board games, an r/c dinosaur, and icee machine and another dino playset (that was from us). He got a ton more crap from the grandma's & aunts/uncles. He still hasn't played with 3/4ths of it. He ended up getting the Chicken Little PS2 game from one grandma, and of course, that's all he cares about.

We're getting ready to hop in the shower right now and go shopping to spend our gift cards. I've got to get him some new school pants and some more socks. Those things miraculously disappear, it's surreal. Then I'm going to get me some double pointed knitting needles and some sock yarn and try to Copycat Rose, ROFL...I'm such a follower *blush*

Anyway, Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR! {don't drink and drive!}
